Piazza dei Miracoli
Piazza del Duomo is the most important artistic and turistic centre of Pisa. It has been numberedamong the Unesco World’s Heritages of Mankind since 1947, there you can admire monuments that composed the centre of religious life in the city, also known as miracles (from the poet Gabriele D’Annunzio in 1910) for their beauty and originality: the cathedral, the baptistery, the Campo Santo and the bell tower (the Leaning Tower). Hence the name of Piazza dei Miracoli, spread after the war, during the era of mass tourism.
